The Sil Octapeak F8eSJ is the winter version of the F8 tent.
It is a pure flysheet without inner, and is equipped with snowflaps and a stove jack. There is only one door and one closeable top vent. A bottom vent was added additionally, for better airflow control (e.g. when the fly gets covered with snow) and no air will pass the bottom gaps.
If needed (f.e. for summer use also) the F8eSJ can be combined with several inner tents, for example the F8 (4-person inner), V8 (2-person inner) or one or two V4 (1-person) inners, you find them in the accessories.
To combine the tent with the Bathtub Floor F8 instead of inner tents can offer you an interesting alternative with lower weight. Nevertheless with the floor covered (half of it or the whole area) you and your gear are covered against wetness and mud from below.
It is delivered with 8 pegs for the minimal setup, and in case of heavy weather it offers 23 pegging points.
The toploop can be used to pitch the tent with outer poles, or to hang it from a tree. If you want to use your tent without an operating stove you can replace the stove jack with a square piece of tent fabric - also delivered with the suiting hook-and-loop fastener.
The flysheet is made from 40D ripstop nylon with SI/PU coating, all the major seams are doubled with tough webbing to increase the stability.
You need an additional pole of ~185 cm height, for example our Tarp Pole 197.
We recommend to combine this winter tent with one of our lightweight W.STOVE Titanium stoves. Regarding the total weight this combination (4-person winter tent and ultralight weight stove) is unbeatable from our point of view.
